Relatives and friends congregated at a prominent city hotel today to attend the wedding reception of Infosys chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy's daughter, who entered into wedlock with her classmate from Stanford Business School.

The 29-year-old Akshata Murthy yesterday married to Rishi Sumak, an Indian based in the US.

The reception at the Leela Palace was attended by relatives and family friends.

Prominent personalities who attended the reception included Azim Premji, Chairman of Infosys' rival Wipro, Chairperson of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Cricketer Anil Kumble and Nandan M Nilekani, who heads the Unique Identification Authority of India.


Akshata, who did her MBA at Stanford Business School, is currently employed with Tendris, a Dutch cleantech Incubator Fund, as its marketing director.

The reception was attended by over 1,000 guests from the corporate world, including Wipro Chairman Azim Premji, Biocon Chairman and Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, founder of low-cost airline, Air Deccan, Captain G.R. Gopinath, former Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani, Titan Industries MD Bhaskar Bhat, Narayana Hrudayalaya founder and Chairman Devi Shetty, MindTree Executive Chairman Ashok Soota. Politicians included Mallikarjun Kharge, Dharam Singh and Siddaramaiah. Others were former badminton ace Prakash Padukone and ex-cricketer Syed Kirmani and theatre personality Girish Karnad.

what a interesting marriage infosys daughter got tied in. and what about infosys chief, they have taken the photographs of VIPs as the main coverage in each blog and even all the media has done so, as if they were only the person attending or participating in marriage , but the most was infosys family photographs which was also shown and video broad casted but what about innocent rishi and rishis family, none of their photographs were published by media or infosys family in any blog, if one is shown that too as is the infosys family were not interested in the same. this means the dullah has been purchased by the infosys chief. the infosys did not want the rishis family details to be uploaded and shown to public,why so? they have praised narayan murhty in every blog but what about the details of rishis family, i have come to know that rishis father is a doctor in u.k. at least media should not be sold to the aristocrates.
